Georgia Trip

It started with my alarm going off at 3am on Thursday. Mercy!! Only 4 hours of sleep for a 10 hour drive! All went well tho. The drive kinda flew by. Plus Linda and Perrin in the back seat (the children) didn't give me any issues...well not much haha.

We got to Jekyll Island around 130ish and checked into our really awesome hotel. We didn't have long to stare as we then drove off the Island and met up with some Everquest friends we had made about 8 years ago for lunch. They took us to a local bar-b-q restaurant. It was pretty good...not the best I have ever had, but it sufficed. We then had to haul ass back to the hotel so that we could take some rehearsal prep photos of the wedding.

That night Melody and I ate dinner at a local seafood restaurant on the island. It was not too great really...but the drinks were good! We then had to find an ATM machine to pull some cash and that lead us on an hour trip to another adjacent island....mercy..again.

Next morning Melody decided to stay in and get some rest while Linda and Perrin and I explored this island. We went to 2 different nature places and saw lots of turtles...especially the Logger Head Turtles! They were so BIG! We also did a quick geocache while out that day.

We headed back to the hotel and Melody went off to shoot prep shoots of the bride and her maids while I got ready. From this point on it was all about working. What a REALLY NICE WEDDING! It was awesome. The set up couldn't have been better. Melody got really good photos!

Later that night the bride asked us to an adjacent bar where we hung out till about midnight...that was about all the energy we had left!

Next morning we had to get up early for another shoot with the bride for her Trash the Dress. We went to a beach called Driftwood. It's probably the NEATEST beach I've ever seen! There were huge trees that looked petrified lying all over the beach! Again, Melody got some awesome shoots.

After the shooting we all left and drove to Savannah. Along the way we stopped by "The Smallest Church in America". It really was small and really neat! Inside was a chapel fully equipped and could seat about 15 people barley lol It even had stained glass windows! I got a geocache here too.

We arrived in Savannah and drove around looking at the parks and cemeteries and just general scenery there. We went to the cemetery that "Midnight Garden of Good and Evil" was filmed...I thought it was one of the more beautiful cemeteries I've ever been to. We then drove all the way to Tybee Island and went to "The Crab Shack" for dinner. It was OK food wise but the decor was CRAZY lol Live alligators surrounding the place!

Next morning (today) we got up and drove the rest of the way home. Total miles was 1300! But we had a lot of fun!
